ʻAkahi Lumbar Pillowcase

Explore a connection to Polynesian cultures with our ‘Akahi Lumbar Pillowcases, inspired by the tradition of ‘ohe kāpala seen in Kapa design.

‘Akahi was inspired by the Hawaiian barkcloth tradition of handmade kapa which is adorned with patterns created by ’ohe kāpala (bamboo stamps). The initial markings of this foundational print were graphically reinterpreted to evoke the essence of traditional kapa designs. Its name speaks to the primal connection between first nationsʻ cultures and the design aesthetics they share.
