What is The Thread Count on your Bedding? What is Combed Cotton? What is Sateen?
The quality of bedding is determined by 3 things: thread-count, the type of cotton used, and how it's woven.
NOHO HOME bedding products are made with 300-thread count. Contrary to popular belief, a higher thread count does not necessarily mean a higher quality. Products with 200-400 thread counts are considered "luxury" due to the finite number of threads that can be woven into one square inch. Anything higher than 500 is likely fiction.
All NOHO HOME bedding is made from 100% combed cotton. Combed cotton is an extremely soft version of cotton made with cotton fibers that undergo a process known as "carding" before they are spun into yarn. The carding process removes short cotton fibers and impurities while lining up the longer fibers to lie in the same direction. These long, clean fibers are then spun into threads.
The sateen weave, in combination with the luxury thread count and quality combed cotton is what gives NOHO HOME bedding its luxurious and silky feel. The sateen weave employs a "one thread under, three threads over" pattern of construction and gives our bedding its subtle sheen and heavy drape that only gets softer over time.
Do you offer Cal-King size bedding?
No, we do not offer Cal-King size specific bedding, however our King Size comforters and duvet covers are designed a little bigger to fit both King and Cal-King size beds. Our King Size Luxury Sheet Sets also fit Cal-King size bedding, with a little caveat -- there will be a small lift/misalignment of the seams at the bottom edge of the mattress, but it will still hold securely.
Do your duvet covers have corner ties?
No, our duvet covers do not currently have corner ties. We are working towards including them in our next batch!
How do I clean And care for my NOHO HOME bedding AND/OR Textile products?
You may wash your NOHO HOME comforters, duvet covers, sheets, and euro shams in the washing machine on gentle cycle using mild detergent. Do NOT use bleach. For best results, we recommend line drying your bedding to better preserve the quality and colors of the fibers, but you may also use a dryer on air dry -- do not use heat. Touch iron on reverse if needed.
PILLOWS & KITCHEN TEXTILES
You may wash your pillowcases and kitchen textiles in the washing machine on gentle cycle using mild detergent. Do NOT use bleach. For best results, we recommend line drying these items to better preserve the quality and colors of the fibers, but you may also use a dryer on low heat. Touch iron on reverse if needed. The effectiveness of our DuPont Stain & Soil Release treatment will remain unaffected for many washes.
What exactly is DuPont Stain & Soil Release?
DuPont Stain & Soil Release is a fabric treatment built into the fabrics used to make our kitchen textiles and decor pillowcases. This treatment is perfect for kids and pets as it repels dirt and liquids from soiling the fabric, long enough to clean up spills or stains.
Prolonged exposure to liquids (like in the case of laundering) will penetrate the fibers and remove any stubborn or leftover residue.
What size pillow inserts should i use with your decor pillows?
For our 20" x 20" square pillowcases, we reccomend using 22" x 22" inserts to give your pillow a plush, filled look. For our 12" x 20" lumbar pillowcases, we reccomend a 12" x 20" pillow insert. Poly fills provide a firmer structure while down and down-alternative inserts allow for the infamous "pillow chop"!
Do your shower curtains come with hooks?
Yes, every NOHO HOME shower curtain comes with 12 silver shower curtain hooks.
