Kauhale collaboration as part of its Legacy of Aloha collection, an ongoing series that honors island treasures, visionaries, and organizations committed to creating spaces grounded in aloha and enduring legacy. Drawing inspiration from Kalo, Community, Hānai and Kauhale, the collection layers meaning into every detail. Kalo grounds the design in nourishment and ancestry. The repetition or weaving in the design speaks to connection, and continuity, and hānai reflects the practice of caring for one another. At the heart of the collection is a reimagined Kauhale motif, translated into textile in the spirit of ʻŌhe kāpala stamping, where repetition becomes rhythm, and pattern becomes story. The design evokes shelter, gathering, and collective care, mirroring the values embodied by the Kauhale Initiative.
“This collection is about creating spaces that feel connected to our shared history, culture and lifestyle, spaces that remind us we belong,” says Jalene Kanani. “Through design, we have the opportunity to honor our traditions while building something that tangibly gives back to our community.”
Designed as both a statement and a grounding element, each piece anchors conversations, inviting reflection on connection, resilience, and the meaning of home.
